Players start their own Guilds. As of Now you need 100 gold to start and 1000 gold for a Cape. If you are the leader you will have to disband the Guild fo pick a new leader so You can quit.

Unless the mechanics have changed you can not be in two different guilds in the game world.

Geez it'd be interesting to see actual GuildRivalries, but I think if there is too much of that and "competition." The game would probably make a turn for the worst.
Well I guess if the community becomes too friendly then it'd still end up a turn for the worst. Bleh who knows don't listen to me. I like to troll around because I am secretly a troll thats 5'7... err 5'6 1/2 |

there may be an npc as a symbolic target but not the head of the guild
the head of the guild may not even be in that particular match 100 members leaves a lot of room for the guild head not to be there |

Does this mean (the above quote) that if I have Super Man, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Bat Man as my characters, that once Super Man becomes a member of a guild everyone joins that guild, or can Green Lantern be in a different guild of his own, while Wonder Woman works solo? Dave III |

That is correct. Guild membership is by account rather than character. So the scenarior above is not possible. Once Superman joins a guild, the others will automatically join as well.

Yes, guild membership is account based. If you want to join another guild you will need to leave your first or buy a second copy of Guild Wars. I'd check with both guilds to see if that is allowed before buying that second copy though.
You *could* betray one guild by joining another. It would leave a bad taste in people's mouths about you I imagine though. AFAIK there is no structure in place to keep you from hopping guilds forever. At that point people begin to police themselves though and you might stop getting guild invites. In Guild Vs Guild combat there is the option of "random" or "challenge" fighting. You could roleplay an ongoing feud through the challenge system, although currently there is a limit on how many times you can play a guild. The limit is on "games played inbetween" and not "time", currently. I don't think that limit applies to "random" but we were forced to play a few randoms before issueing a challenge last BWE after randomly facing the guild we wished to challenge. We still could have fought them in random combat to the best of my knowledge. Last edited by Bobangry; Mar 29, 2005 at 08:36 PM // 20:36.. |

Poop. Sometimes a body feels like being by themselves, y'know? I mean, suppose you're in a non-RP'ing guild and you, as a lark, want to go and RP? Even if it's just for a while. Or vice-versa. Or you just want to blow off steam and stomp on the little mutant bunnies without guildmates interrupting you every five minutes.
This makes me hesitate at joining a guild. Which seems against the point. I suppose I can kinda see the benefits; it'll be harder for someone to be nice in one character and a jerk in another, it'll come back to the guild eventually and the jerk can be "neutralized" in whatever way is appropriate. But is that the only benefit? Dave III |

My guild constists of three people right now (me and two of my friends I know from real life) and we just use it to contact eachother when we want to kill things rather than whispering individualy. So really a guild is whatever you want it to be. If all else fails make your own.

Or maybe you feel like stripping down and streaking through the city. (Extreme example. ^_^ ) You might not want to draw attention to the fact that you, or someone from your guild, might do such a thing. I dunno, maybe I'm just being wierd. But it is something I'd prefer, given my druthers. Dave III |
